Sinusitis (Congestive Flu)
It is an inflammation of the mucous membrane of the sinus cavities surrounding the nasal passages. It is characterised by nasal congestion and purulent secretions.
Symptoms
A person affected by acute sinusitis feels intense facial pain when he or she has a cold or flu. The pain may be centred at the base of the nose when the frontal lobe is affected, or around the cheek bone when the maxillary cavity is affected. It tends to produce a stuffed-up feeling in the head. A yellowish secretion may flow from the affected side through the nose. This same secretion may also flow backward into the pharynx.
